This is what was waiting for us this morning. I guess our Elf felt a little warm and had to have some snow. :)
Today, as mentioned in my previous post, we started with typing, then went to the Library for a presentation by Mustard Seed. The students were very engaged in the presentation and learned quite a few things about what the Mustard Seed does.
After recess we returned to the library to work with Mme Adeline on a "cartoon". It was a wonderful activity. Thank you Mme Adeline. She first read an example to us, then in groups of two the students wrote their own "bandes dessinées". Finally the students presented these to the class. It was really fun.
We then followed this up with gym before going for lunch. After lunch the students went to the Gymnasium to hear from the various candidates who are running for school council as the voting will take place Friday. Once we returned to class, we read for about 10 minutes before it was recess time again. And the day was wrapped up with Gym (a longer period this time.)
A super busy day, with many awesome things accomplished. We certainly can't complain, but I am looking forward to a calmer day tomorrow :).
I am still on the hunt for white gloves. I found some nice ones in the Dollar store which have a sparkly snowflake on them, but I can't seem to find anymore of these. If anyone has any white gloves they can spare for the concert or can find me some of those with the sparkly snowflakes on them, I would truly appreciate that. These are the kinds of gloves I am looking for or something similar. The key is that they should be white.
Phone Jail:
Though there weren't many issues with cell phones in our class so far, we decided to have a phone jail to minimize the opportunities to have issues going forward. The phone jail is meant to keep distractions out of our desks. If your child brings their phone to school, it will be kept in the phone jail right beside my desk until the end of the day. So far students have been good about putting their phone in jail. This is truly about making good choices to help us all learn better.
