It's the weekend! - ok, almost :) - Oct 11

Tomorrow will be a very busy day, not that today wasn't :).

In Math we continued working on patterns after a quick multiplication quiz.  The students are definitely improving their speed and accuracy.  Some of the students also had time to play Monster Math, which is a multiplication game with dice.

In French we started correcting the work we did on Avoir and Etre and will continue the next time we do conjugation.

In Science, we fed our worms today but it looks like they will need a bit more time before they can be fed again.  Lots of food to still work their way through :).  We will be putting together a schedule for the feeding and we will have students take on the job from now on.  We also learned about decomposers and how they contribute to the "Grand Cycle des matériaux".

In Religion we talked about Scripture and started talking about the Old and New Testaments.  We also listened to a new song and tried to incorporate some of our understanding of the beat into the song.  Unfortunately, we did not have much time for music this week, so making sure we don't forget is important.  We even incorporated analyzing the lyrics of the song to spot our nouns.

Finally, in English we looked at our understanding of the chapters we read so far from Wonder and to help with answering the questions, we quickly reread the first few chapters.  The laughter around Auggie's principal being named Mr. Tushman was still as strong as the first time we read it. :)

Tomorrow... well, in addition to Teacher's Pet visiting, our English and French spelling tests, the choir tryouts, and Hymn Sing, we will also get together and read with our grade 1 buddies.  We will be working with them on their reading skills and will even help them get on Raz-Kids :).  It will be fun helping our little buddies!

FOOD DRIVE
As many of you may have noticed, as you enter the school you can see a table where we are collecting donations for the St. Vincent de Paul and Knights of Columbus food drive.  Please take a moment and send a small donation as there are many in our communities who are in need and could really benefit hugely from a small token a kindness.

Have a fabulous evening!
