Happy October 1st - Oct 1

Well, October has arrived and it started with a very busy 1st day for us.

We started the day by locating our desks again as Mme Kiss moved all the desks (or almost all) last Friday.  Once we settled, we had our sharing circle and continued on with the day.  We did a lot of math, we started "conjugaison" of Avoir et Etre, and we did our French dictee and English spelling tests as well.  We also got new people filling in the positions (or responsibilities) of the classroom.

Thank you Max for the wonderful prayer this morning.  I have updated our classroom calendar with the particular students and the dates they will be responsible for the morning prayer.  Tomorrow it is Xavier's turn.  He will do an amazing job. :)

Reminder:
- Math quiz on Thursday (Oct 4) - will be multiplication again!
- No new French or English words until next week

Homework:
- Math review sheets from last week were due today.  If not handed in, please make sure they come in tomorrow.
- New Math review sheets sent home today for this week.  These are due Tuesday Oct 9.
- English review sheets (half-page) have also been sent home.  Complete each section per day.  Completely finished package due Oct 9.

Raz-Kids Assignment:
For this week, I have assigned three(3) books.  The levels are the same as last week.  I will increase the level next week based on individual progress.  Students can continue to read the English books too and earn stars that way.  The students should now know which passwords to use.  Please try to record how they are reading through the raz-kids program.  Some of you did, thank you!
The page for Raz-Kids is: www.kidsa-z.com.
The teacher login is: maria0

Challenge of the week:
A soccer ball flew right onto Mme. Kiss' back.  3 suspected culprits were called into the principal's office for investigation.
Shawn: "I did not do it!"
Andy: "Not me! But I saw Shawn kick that shot."
      James: "Andy lied."
One of them told the truth.  Who kicked the soccer ball?

Remember that you have to bring a written solution to the problem to get a sticker!!!!
