Je me souviens - Nov 9

La fin de semaine est ici...

Well, today was another busy day.  We started the day with a sharing circle, and a short little goodbye to Chantal.  The class gave her  box of messages to tell her how much we will miss her.  After a giant group hug, we then turned our attention to our Math quiz.

Once we finished the quiz, it was time to got to our Remembrance day liturgy.  It was an absolutely beautiful liturgy organized by Mme Polly from Kindergarten.  We are so lucky to have such amazing and talented teachers at this school.

When we returned from recess, we did both our English and French spelling tests and then we finally reaped the rewards of the great reading that we have been doing these past two months and started watching a movie.  The list of options was great but Mme decided to go with the Lego Movie as it talks about working as a team and how much more we can achieve that way.  In addition the focus is on constructing machines using simple things which will be the next topic in our science curriculum.  The movie was in French, something which was a new experience for many of the our students.  Voices were different and even the "Everything is awesome song" sounded a bit different.  I still got groans when I had to turn off the movie, so I'm guessing this movie is "Awesome" in any language.

We paused the movie to pop over to see our Grade 1 buddies and help them work on Raz-Kids.  Grade 4s are becoming experts at helping :).

After lunch we continued to watch the movie until the next recess.  Finally, after recess we had gym which we then topped off with a few more minutes of the movie. As we could not finish it, we will do so next week.  We are glad that Chantal got to see some of it. :)
