One more day of swimming left - Nov 7

One more day of swimming left.  We can't say thank you enough to the amazing volunteers who once again helped us throughout the whole swimming trip.  Once again, to my knowledge nothing was left behind for a second day in a row .😊

NOTE: Although tomorrow there will be Sammy's Pizza (for those who ordered), it will not arrive in time for our students to eat these before we go swimming.  Please pack a lunch so that we don't have any hungry friends going to swimming lessons tomorrow.  We will pick up the pizzas upon our return.  

Math-a-thon: Pledges and the math tests have now been returned.  Thank you all for your patience.  As mentioned in my last blog, pledge money should be sent in by November 9th.

Today in Math we worked with our large numbers again and used Venn Diagrams and Carroll Diagrams to sort and organize our numbers. Although many remembered from last year how to use these diagrams, we quickly discovered that they can be a little challenging sometimes so we will continue to use them throughout our lessons to help solidify the concepts. 

In the morning we also worked on our abstract art which most of us have now finished.  A picture will be posted here once the final two pieces of art are finished and displayed with the rest.  
   
Finally, once we returned from swimming, the students had gym which may have resulted in very tired kids going home today.  Hopefully that also means that they sleep well tonight.  😃

Friday we will have our Remembrance Day Liturgy @ 10:00 AM in the school.  Come join us and help us remember.

Before our swimming lesson, we watched a short video on why we remember our veterans and in particular why WWI was so significant.  This is from a great website that I have now added as a resource to the Resources page.  Questions to many questions are answered through animated short videos that are fun to watch and informative.
