Art, art, we love art :) - Sept 27

We really do love art and that's what we did much of today :).  Well, not entirely, but when Art and Math go so well together as in the Fibonacci sequence, then it's hard not to.

Math:
We finished all our Fibonacci art work.  The idea was a bit challenging at first, but when I post the pictures here, you will see how amazingly creative everyone in the class is.

We also did a quick practice quiz today in math.  The questions were simple multiplication questions.  The majority did really well.  These are not the easiest as the only way to practice is by simply practicing our multiplication, addition, subtraction and division facts, but I will send home some extra worksheets next week to help build everyone's confidence. 😊

French:
In French we worked on our nouns in the classroom (masculin & feminin).  We all finished, so tomorrow we will start creating our classroom list to help us become more comfortable with these.

Picture Day:
The day was a bit different today as we also had our pictures taken.  The kids looked absolutely amazing and their smiles on their pictures should show the same :).  The photographers were truly wonderful.

Homework:

- Complete math review sheets for Thursday. (Finish Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as well if not finished.)
Les mots de la semaine and Words of the week can be found at these links.

Please note that since we did not get a chance to write our spelling words in our Agendas at the beginning of the week, and some of the students were not really exposed to the list since Monday, we agreed that it would only be fair if we did the tests on Monday (October 1) instead.  This way, everyone has the chance to practice these words a bit more.  We have seen most of these words throughout the week in different contexts, but extra practice time never hurts :).
Raz-Kids Assignment:
As mentioned in the previous blog and my email, I have set up French reading assignments in Raz-kids.  After talking it over in the classroom, I have decided that for the first week, we will only have two(2) books.  The next few weeks this will increase so we can practice our reading skills.  Students can continue to read the English books too and earn stars that way (as many are already doing).  Again, the passwords were changed, so please check my email for more information on that.  The students should now know which passwords to use.  Please try to record how they are reading through the raz-kids program.

The page for Raz-Kids is: www.kidsa-z.com.
The teacher login is: maria0
Extra challenge for this week (I will check these tomorrow morning):
Paul is taller than Joe.
William is shorter than Paul.
Eddie is taller than William but shorter than Joe.
Rank all the children from the tallest to the shortest.
