Et on continue! - Sept 24

Well, week 4 of school has now also begun.  I can't believe how fast this year is moving along.

In Math, we returned to learning about patterns and started working on some questions that we will complete in class.  These will prepare us for the introduction of the Fibonacci sequence and the art piece we will be working on. Review work was sent home today.  Monday should be completed for tomorrow.

In French we returned to "le genre des noms".  This topic seems to be a bit of a challenge for many, so we will have to practice this a little more.  :)

Today, we not only listened to our new song of the week (see below), but we also had Hymn sing in the morning.  We do absolutely love music.  😄
(We will have our own Terry Fox Run on Friday the 28th.)

Next week we will start working with the recorders and learning how to play some music ourselves.  Please send in a recorder sometime this week.

Observation of worms:  Today, we also got to see our little worms.  They were hiding really well, but we did get to see some.  We will now need to start feeding them and we'll also need lots of newspapers to keep them warm and sheltered.  We will also be learning about how they do the amazing work that they do :).

I have recently added some new resources on the Resources page, please make sure to check them out.

Finally, your students will have a piece of paper in their Agenda for an online reading program called Raz-Kids.  We will be discussing how to use this program on Wednesday morning.  With this program, students will be able to read French books on their computers, iPads or any other devices, record their voices while reading and the recordings will then be sent to me to listen to.  I look forward to listening to everyone as it is not always possible to get to hear everyone reading during the day.  (We did run out of time for the Agendas, so we will be updating these tomorrow.)

Les mots de la semaine and Words of the week can be found at these links.
Extra challenge for this week:
Paul is taller than Joe.
William is shorter than Paul.
Eddie is taller than William but shorter than Joe.
Rank all the children from the tallest to the shortest.
Important Dates:
- Sept 25 - Volunteer Orientation @ 6:00 PM
- Sept 27 - PICTURE DAY (Wear your best smile 😀)
- Sept 27 - Sammy's Pizza

Reminder:
- In October, the grade 4 students will be reading the morning prayers.  This is our opportunity to make these morning prayers personal and pray for what matters to us.  It is also an opportunity to share our favourite prayers with the rest of the school.

Bonne soirée!
